At the age of 19, she debuted her first single, Here. The song was widely acclaimed by both critics and fans. It reached number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it as one of the top songs of the year. In the same year, she released her first album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked on the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It also was one of the original five songs. It was a special track because, based on her Rap-Up interview she did with people who listened to her music could connect to her experiences of learning to love themselves and doubting her.
