Alessia Cara

At the age of 19, she debuted her first single, Here. The song was widely acclaimed by both critics and fans. It reached number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it as one of the top songs of the year. In the same year, she released her first album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked on the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It also was one of the original five songs. It was a special track because, based on her Rap-Up interview she did with people who listened to her music could connect to her experiences of learning to love themselves and doubting her. Cara's songs contain messages of love as well as self-love and mental wellbeing. The music that she has written stems from her personal struggles to overcome mental health problems as well as insomnia. In a Reuters interview, she described the album as being half turbulent and half perfected. She says she grew through therapy and she encourages others to seek assistance when needed. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician, was born in Canada on 11 July 1996 to Italian descent parents. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was 10, and it ignited her love for music. She started covering her favourite songs at age 13 to prove to that world that she could sing and had the determination required to be the next singer. Sweater Weather was her most popular cover. An album label, EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her to write songs.
