At the age of 19, she debuted her first single Here. The single was a hit and received praise from both listeners and critics alike. It reached 19th place on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the best songs of 2015. In the same year, she released the album she titled Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked in the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It also was one of the five original songs. Based on an interview she gave together with Rap Up, the song held a lot in the minds of many people who listened to her story about accepting and loving yourself. Cara is known for incorporating the themes of mental health and compassion and self-love in her music. Every song Cara sings comes directly from her battle with mental illness, insomnia as well as other problems. In a Reuters interview, she describes her album as half tumultuous and half well-crafted.
